technique is ill, son/watch how i spill one
Too bad we'll never hear another Isaac Hayes collaboration. His vocals on "I Can't Go To Sleep" redeemed The W for a lotta fuckin' malcontents out there who wanna hate the Wu every time they try somethin' different.
Personally I like the whole fuckin' W but not even the fuckin' malcontents can hate on the Isaac Hayes vocals.
Nah mean? Fuck.

Junior
Junior Reid was a solid collaborator on The W. The right vocals for the right tracks on the right album.
During the right time, no less. See, this is the kinda fuckin' serendipity that makes the Wu clique the Wu clique.
Some mystical shit, for real.

A Backward Glance
The W has aged well. When it came out in 2000 (or was it '01) I thought it had a sloppy production value compared to Forever. And I also thought the MCs had less energy.
But as I approach decrepitude (my early 30s), I've come to realize that sometimes what sounds like a lethargic verse is really just a quiet lament. And as for rougher instrumentals, beats that frankly sound unfinished, old men don't dance anyway.
So I'm good with those too.
